How to Get Your Arizona Motorcycle License

Standard Process

  1. Apply for a motorcycle permit

    Pass the 30-question motorcycle knowledge test (83%, 25 correct) — a higher threshold than the 80% required on the regular permit test.

  4. Pass the skills test

    Pass the on-cycle skills test at an MVD facility to have the motorcycle endorsement added to your license.

Approved Rider Training Course

  1. Enroll in an approved motorcycle rider training course

    Enroll in an Arizona-approved motorcycle rider training course as an alternative to testing directly at an MVD office.

  2. Complete the course

    Complete the classroom and on-motorcycle training required by the course provider.
