How to Get Your Wyoming Motorcycle License

Apply for an instruction permit as early as 15
Begin the motorcycle process with an instruction permit as early as age 15.
Pass the knowledge test, or complete a safety course
Pass the 25-question motorcycle knowledge test (80%, 20 correct), or complete an approved motorcycle safety course, which exempts an applicant from both the knowledge exam and the skills test.
Qualify for an intermediate motorcycle license at 16
Complete the required practice to receive an intermediate motorcycle license at 16.
Pass the skills test
Schedule and pass a skills test — unless already exempted by completing an approved safety course.
Receive your full endorsement at 17
Once you pass, and once you turn 17, the full motorcycle endorsement is added to your driver's license.
Notes
- A helmet is required only for an operator or passenger under 18; once a rider turns 18, Wyoming's helmet law no longer applies to them. A passenger under 18 must wear a helmet regardless of the operator's own age.
